About Chanderi

Lal Bawdi,ChanderiOriginally a stepwell which has now submerged, the Lal Bawdi is actually a pond. Surrounded by shady trees, it is a popular picnic spot for the locals. In a hill near the pond is the tomb of a Muslim saint which is referred to as the Lal Bawdi Takia. Located near the tomb is another Bawdi but this one is cut out of a single stone block and is hence referred to as the Ek patthar ki Bawdi.
