Ramnagar Palace and Museum

Ramnagar,ChanderiThe road passing through the Kati Ghati Gate leads toward the Ramnagar Palace, which also serves as a museum maintained by the Department of Archaeology, Museums, and Archives of Madhya Pradesh. This structure—referred to as a palace—is, in reality, a hunting lodge and resting retreat, commissioned by Maharaja Durjan Singh Bundela in 1698 AD. The stone blocks used in its construction are not uniform in terms of size, shape, or decorative carving. This clearly indicates that these blocks were sourced from the structures of older, ruined monuments located in the surrounding area.
