This hill is named after the fourth Caliph Maula Ali, whose family was sacrificed in Karbala. It is said that a saint from Chanderi used to visit Karbala every year in the month of Muharram and bring back its holy soil. One year he was unable to go and as an alternative made a mound of the holy soil on this hill and prayed there. Since then the hill has been famous as the Maula Ali Hill. Also to be found on the hill are the Hazrat Bismillah Shah mazaar and an Alamgiri mosque.

इस पहाड़ी का नामकरण चौथे खलीफा मौला अली के नाम पर हुआ है, जिनका परिवार कर्बला में शहीद हुआ था। ऐसा कहा जाता है कि चंदेरी से एक संत के लिए हर साल मुहर्रम के महीने में कर्बला की यात्रा को जाते थे और वापस उसकी पवित्र मिट्टी को लेकर आते थे। किसी साल वह जा नहीं सके और एक विकल्प के रूप में इस पहाड़ी पर पवित्र मिट्टी का एक टीला बनाया और वहीं प्रार्थना की। तभी से यह पहाड़ी मौला अली हिल के रूप में प्रसिद्ध है। इसके अलावा इस पहाड़ी पर हजरत बिस्मिल्लाह शाह की मजार और एक आलम गिरि मस्जिद भी है।

Situated in Andar Shaher, near Rajmahal, this Bundela period construction is the most famous among all temples dedicated to Lord Ganesh in Chanderi. A large stone block carved with a four-armed figure of the god Ganesh is the main idol of the temple. The temple is also known as Dundraj as the people believe that a visit to the temple is enough to cure blurred and foggy vision.

अंदर शहर में राजमहल के पास स्थित है, इस बुंदेला काल की संरचना चंदेरी में भगवान गणेश को समर्पित मंदिरों में सबसे प्रसिद्ध है। एक बड़े पत्थर का टुकड़ा जिसमें भगवान गणेश की चार भुजाओं वाली उकेरी गयी है, मंदिर की मुख्य मूर्ति है. यह मंदिर धुंधराज के रूप में भी जाना जाता है क्योंकि लोगों का मानना ​​है कि मंदिर की एक यात्रा धुंधला और धूमिल दृष्टि का इलाज करने के लिए पर्याप्त है।

Alam Giri mosques, called so because they were built during the reign of Aurangzeb or Alamgir are ten in number. Scattered throughout the town, these are modest, single storeyed structures with only three arches in the main building with a courtyard in front. Distinctly different from the Khilji period structures, the mosques are interestingly decorated with figures of flowerpots and what appears to be a huqqa.

आलम गिरि मस्जिदों का नाम इसलिए पड़ा क्योंकि वे औरंगजेब या आलमगीर के शासनकाल के दौरान बनाया गया था और संख्या में 10 हैं। पूरे शहर में बिखरे हुए, ये मस्जिद साधारण एकल मंजिला संरचनाएँ हैं जिसमें मुख्य इमारत में केवल तीन मेहराब के साथ सामने एक आंगन है। खिलजी काल की संरचनाओं से साफ अलग, ये मस्जिद दिलचस्प रूप से गुलदस्तों और हुक्का जैसी आकृति के साथ सजाये गये है।

Built in 1663, this chhatri is similar to that of Maharaja Bharat Shah but is smaller in dimensions. With eaves at two levels, the building appears, on the outside, to have three storeys but inside it is just one structure. Interestingly, three wall faces out of the eight are decorated with mosque-like arches and even carved with verses from the Holy Quran. These were possibly meant for his Muslim subjects for them to offer prayers for his soul on his death anniversaries.

सन् 1663 ई. में निर्मित यह छतरी बनावट में महाराजा भरत शाह के समान है लेकिन छोटे आकार की है। दो स्तरों पर छज्जा होने के कारण यह इमारत बाहर से तीन मंजिला दिखाई देता है, लेकिन अंदर यह सिर्फ एक संरचना है। दिलचस्प है कि, आठ में से तीन सतह की दीवारों को मस्जिद की तरह मेहराब के साथ सजाया गया है और यहां तक ​​कि पवित्र कुरान के छंद के साथ नक्काशी भी की गयी है। ये संभवतः उनके मुस्लिम प्रजा के लिए बनाये गये थे ताकि वे उन्हें उनकी मृत्यु वर्षगाँठ पर उनके आत्मा के लिए प्रार्थना कर सकें।
